Birkenhead School offers girls and boys, from the age of 3 months to 18 years, an educational journey that sets them apart and goes beyond outstanding grades. Through the life-enriching opportunities offered, pupils leave the School as confident, happy and ambitious young adults who stand out from their peers.
We offer pupils an outstanding educational experience and a warm and welcoming school community. Our experienced and inspirational teachers enthuse and support pupils to discover passions and interests that will inspire them throughout life.
As a HMC School we are recognised as one of the country's leading independent schools and the School is ranked 84th in the 'Sunday Times 2016 Top Independent Schools'.
We welcome admissions throughout the year and pupils will join one of the following areas of the School:
- Nursery - from 3 months to 3 years
- Pre-Prep - from 3 years to 4 years
- Prep - Primary education from Foundation to Year 6 across Key Stages 1 and 2
- Seniors - Secondary education from Year 7 to Year 11 up to and including GCSE examinations
- Sixth Form - Advanced Level education for Years 12 and 13
At each stage of their educational journey there is a seamless transition onto the next stage, supported by outstanding pastoral care.
It is possible for pupils to join the School outside of the typical entry points, subject to places being available and the admissions criteria being met.
We run a number of Open Events throughout the year. Forthcoming dates and to register can be found at: Open Day Registration.
The best way to find out more about the School and the opportunities available to your child is to visit in person. Mr Vicars, Headmaster and Mr Fitzherbert, Head of Prep, welcome visits from prospective parents.
