Overdale is the name we give to the beautiful white building tucked away in the corner of our campus. In the first two years, pupils join our unique Overdale community. It is a stepping stone into the Seniors which allows pupils to adjust to life in Years 7 and 8, and to find their feet in a self-contained environment.
It is a close-knit community of over 100 girls and boys and eight members of staff. Pupils enjoy a rich and varied curriculum, exploring new ideas, stimulating debate and laying down the foundations for a strong individual work ethic.
Small class sizes allow form tutors to get to know their students quickly and to provide them with individual guidance and support - essential at this stage in their education. For their academic subjects, students are, of course, taught by the full range of specialist staff.
Pupils are mainly taught in their own form room, although a number of subjects are taught in our specialist facilities, such as PE, Science, IT and Design Technology. Overdale students also enjoy their own wide-ranging recreational facilities including separate playgrounds, games and common rooms with areas to sit, chat and play and their own tuck shop. Additionally a number of societies and clubs exist in which pupils can indulge their interests and develop new ones.
In Year 7 all pupils study the following subjects:
||PE & Games
In addition, Year 8 pupils study a further two languages selected from the following;
Overdale pupils also enjoy our ‘Beyond the Curriculum’ carousel, which offers additional modules on the environment, healthy living, cookery, drama and public speaking.
